Our school

Milverton Primary School is set in a popular area on the edge of Leamington town centre. We are very proud of our school and are pleased to have the opportunity to tell you about ourselves and why we are happy to be part of the school community.

Our aim is to enable every child to achieve his or her maximum potential. To help us do this, we create a peaceful environment in which tolerance, mutual co-operation and stability are encouraged, so that each child can work productively, learn to make decisions, use his or her own judgement and co-operate with others. As a school, we are trying to achieve these high standards by responding professionally, sensitively and caringly to the needs of all our pupils.

The school was originally founded on this site in 1887. We now have almost 300 children, engaged in a wide curriculum and a growing number of extra-curricular and after-school activities.

We have a mixture of buildings old and new. As well as traditional classrooms we have dedicated areas for science, design & technology and art, a recently refurbished library and a networked ICT suite.

Our Infant and Junior classes are linked by play areas which include safe and quiet places, zones for ball games and other lunchtime activities and an outdoor classroom. We also have a sculpture garden, a pond and wildlife area and a swimming pool. Our playing field is located nearby and has its own pavilion.

Also on our site is a nursery school which offers pre-school and after-school care for pupils of all ages.

We have a well-earned reputation for caring sensitively for the individual learning and social needs of all our pupils. Our children come from a wide range of backgrounds and develop a caring attitude to each other and for the wider community. We have many visitors to the school, arrange trips to local places of interest and take a party of children to North Wales each year.

Last, but not least, we welcome active participation from parents, many of whom are closely involved in supporting children's learning.

If you would like to see for yourself what our school is like, our pupils will be pleased to show you.
